Based on the origin of the different Transylvanian pieces, old or new, and on their main themes, a film was shot to
present the natural beauty and cultural riches of multiethnic Romania. The images show the cultural heritage of
Romanians (old Bucharest, Mogoşoaia Palace etc.), Hungarians (the monastery of Şumuleu Ciuc, Rimetea and
others), and of Transylvanian Saxons (old Braşov, fortified churches etc.). Rural landscapes and images of art
works are displayed as you listen to the music. Optional subtitles (in four languages) are intended to provide
information on the historical and social context of the pieces performed, thus adding a documentary touch to the
otherwise lyrical film.
